ICC Wales Wins Two Prestigious Awards After Staging Successful Global Congress

International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) is celebrating after winning two prestigious meetings industry awards on consecutive days this summer.
The venue was named Best UK Event Venue at the Micebook Awards judged by the organizers, agencies and leaders who are key decision makers within the sector.
The following day, ICC Wales won the Events and Operations Team of the Year at the Conference & Events Awards, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the entire venue team who consistently deliver exceptional events.
The team delivered 191 events in 2025 and welcomed 202,000 visitors, representing a 48% rise on the previous year while achieving a 96% client satisfaction rate.
The accolades came after ICC Wales staged one of its largest international events to date in May when the Worldchefs Congress & Expo was staged in the UK venue for the first time in its 98-year history.
More than 1,200 chefs, industry leaders and innovators attended from 65 different countries, generating substantial international media coverage, while showcasing Wales’ food and drink industry on a global stage.
ICC Wales was roundly praised by delegates for the quality of its facilities and the team’s delivery of the event programme. At the closing ceremony, Culinary Director Peter Fuchs was awarded the Worldchefs President’s Medal in recognition of his distinguished career and his instrumental role in the success of the Congress.
Worldchefs President Andy Cuthbert said: “The last four days here in Wales have been extraordinary. The organization, comradery and support we have received have been just flawless.
“We all work in the industry and I run big events back home in Dubai, so I know what it takes to pull off something of this size. The location and proximity to other hotels was perfect and ICC Wales as a venue is absolutely spot-on. As president, I could not be happier with the end result.”
ICC Wales Managing Director Craig Bingham said: “It has been a particularly exciting and proud time for ICC Wales. Winning two such prestigious awards is a testament to both our world-class venue and the dedication of our fantastic team.
“Staging an event of the scale of the Worldchefs Congress speaks volumes about the confidence in ICC Wales as a destination for international conventions. It also reflects Wales’ growing reputation for hosting events that attract global audiences and deliver real impact.”
