Building Canada’s Equestrian Future Through Education and Competition

WESLEY CLOVER PARKS — A four-season community hub for outdoor recreation • wesleycloverparks.com
The Wesley Clover Parks Campground officially opened for the 2026 season in May, once again offering Ottawa residents and visitors an affordable, family-friendly urban camping experience just minutes from downtown. With sites for tents, trailers, RVs, and cabin rentals, the campground continues to provide an accessible way for families and outdoor enthusiasts to connect with nature close to home.
Equestrian education also continued to grow at the Ian Millar School of Horsemanship. The popular Discover Horses program remained in high demand, with bi-weekly introductory sessions consistently selling out and expanding to include school groups and community organizations. Wesley Clover Parks also partnered with Algonquin College to provide Veterinary Technician students with hands-on equine training, giving future Registered Veterinary Technicians the opportunity to develop practical skills while working directly with school horses under professional supervision. These initiatives reflect Wesley Clover Parks’ ongoing commitment to education, horsemanship, and supporting the future of Canada’s equine industry.
June welcomed the return of the Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival for its second consecutive year at Wesley Clover Parks. The two-day celebration brought together Indigenous artists, performers, educators, and community members while featuring more than 75 vendors offering arts, crafts, and traditional foods. The festival continues to provide meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange, learning, and celebration.
Horse show season officially began in May, launching a calendar of 16 equestrian competitions that will welcome athletes ranging from grassroots competitors to the international level. In 2026, Wesley Clover Parks is the only venue in Canada, and one of only a few in North America, hosting international competition across all three Olympic equestrian disciplines. Featured events this season include the Ottawa International CSI4* CSI2* in August and Eventing at The Parks CCI2*-S CCI1* in September.
