Brookstreet Pictures is an independent film production & finance company based in Los Angeles and the UK, whose mission is to support daring and distinctive filmmakers in the telling of hard-hitting stories. Last year, the company released The Brutalist, its biggest title to date, starring Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, and Guy Pearce, written by Brady Corbet & Mona Fastvold, and directed by Brady Corbet. A24 acquired US rights out of the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where the film premiered on 70MM to rave reviews and won the Silver Lion Prize for Best Director. The film went on to win three Golden Globe Awards (including Best Picture Drama), four BAFTAs, and three Academy Awards.
Brookstreet Pictures is currently in production in Ottawa on Michael Cera’s directorial debut, Love is Not the Answer, starring Pamela Anderson, Steve Coogan, and Jamie Dornan. In January 2026, Brookstreet Pictures will also be releasing Marc Evans’ Mr. Burton, a biopic about the young Richard Burton and his most influential mentor, Philip H. Burton, with the BBC and Icon. BAFTA winner Toby Jones stars in the title role alongside Harry Lawtey as Richard and Oscar Nominee Lesley Manville. Previous Brookstreet Pictures projects include: Michael Keaton’s Knox Goes Away, starring Keaton, James Marsden, Suzy Nakamura, Marcia Gay Harden, and Al Pacino, which premiered at TIFF 2023 and launched on MAX at #1 after a wide theatrical release; The Forgiven, John Michael McDonagh’s dramatic thriller starring Ralph Fiennes, Jessica Chastain, Matt Smith, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Christopher Abbott; Academy Award-winning director Guy Nattiv’s Skin, starring Jamie Bell, Vera Farmiga, Danielle Macdonald and Bill Camp, which won the FIPRESCI Prize at TIFF 2018; and O.G. a prison drama starring Jeffrey Wright and shot entirely in an active maximum-security correctional facility. Wright’s performance earned him the award for Best Actor at Tribeca 2018, where the film was acquired by HBO Films.
